Original Edition of book
In 1960, the Thomas Webster
Family Organization of Cedar City published a history of the Webster families, going down to the grandchildren (3rd Generation) of Francis and William Webster.
The book is called Generations of Websters, and it was compiled by Amy Leigh Van Cott and Allen Wilford Leigh,
two great-grandchildren of Francis Webster. Amy gathered the histories
and genealogies, collected the money, and distributed the books; Allen put the
manuscript
together and arranged for the printing and binding of 300 copies.
The book contains the
genealogical information that was known to the family at that time,
and it contains stories of the people. The book has become important
to the descendants of the people described in the book. In addition,
many of the persons who wrote
the stories have passed on, and the book has taken on added importance
to the descendants of those persons.
New Edition of Book
The 1960 edition of
Generations of Websters is out of
print. In order to make the book accessible to people today, I
have produced a new edition that is being distributed via the Internet. The new
edition contains all of the histories and photographs from the 1960 edition.
In addition, it contains additional histories and photographs, and the
Index contains spouses. Also, the book contains a new chapter briefly reviewing the
origin and early history of Cedar City. The book
contains none of the genealogical information from the 1960 edition.
Minor corrections have been made in the histories.
A New Book for 4th Generation
A
new book, Generations of Websters - Volume II, is being compiled with
histories of the great-grandchildren (4th Generation) of Francis
Webster and William Webster. This is an ongoing project, and I will be
adding additional histories from time to time. If you would like
particular histories put into the new edition, please email me your
stories and photographs. Use the

Volume II can be downloaded via the link in this page. If you
