Both 2 CONT christening and birth dates come from the Wymondham parish registers (Film 2 CONT no.1911510). Two other daughters (Mary and Elizabeth) are given in 2 CONT "Generations of Websters" (p.4) but were not found in the Wymondham records. 2 CONT Amy VanCott obtained the marriage certificates for Eleanor, Francis, Emily, 2 CONT and William for her family group sheets. 2 CONT 2 CONT The marriage of Thomas II Webster and Mary Goward in Wymondham had witnesses 2 CONT Jeremiah Forster and Elizabeth Goward. Banns were read, and he was given as 2 CONT "bachelor" and she as "spinster," so neither had been married earlier. With 2 CONT the christening of all of Thomas's children except Eleanor he is listed as 2 CONT "labourer," and with Eleanor he is listed as a "husbandman" or small farmer. 2 CONT His abode was always Suton or Sutton, a section of Wymondham. At least 2 CONT thirteen Webster couples appear in the parish records besides the three known 2 CONT to be ours. Only three 2 CONT other references appear in the Attleborough records, for Elizabeth dau of 2 CONT Thomas and Marie Coman (christened on 22 Nov 1637 and for Stephen Coman's son 2 CONT Daniel (born and buried in 1792) and his wife Mary (buried in 1805). In 2 CONT nearby Wymondham in the 1830s Stephen Coman was a weaver, and Jonathan joined 2 CONT him in the 1840s (Film no.1911510). In Wicklewood the name Coman appeared 2 CONT twice: William Coman and Honor his wife had Sarah (chr 26 March 1802) and 2 CONT John Welton and wife Mary Coman had Susanna (chr 22 Sep 1803) (Film 2 CONT no.1526812). Possibly these later families were relatives of our Elizabeth, 2 CONT but none was traced further. 2 CONT 2 CONT The death date given for Elizabeth Comman comes from "Elizabeth Webster widow" 2 CONT in the Attleborough parish register without more identification, but no other 2 CONT Elizabeth Webster appears there (Fiche no.6026423).
