This web site is
about the families, ancestors, and descendants of two brothers, Francis and William Webster, who left Wymondham, Norfolk England and settled in Cedar City, Utah.
Francis Webster and
his wife, Ann Elizabeth or Betsy, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints (commonly known as the Mormon Church) and immigrated to Utah in 1856 in the Martin Handcart
Company (see the page on The Mormon Trail
for information about a video on the Willie and Martin handcart companies).
Two days after arriving in Salt Lake City, Francis and Betsy moved south to Cedar City,
Utah. Many years later, Francis' brother, William, left England for economic
reasons and joined his brother in Cedar City.
On
August 30, 2008 a statue of Francis Webster was unveiled. In this picture Judy
Leigh is admiring the statue. Click
